Gerald Mies joins FFG to lead milling technology and factory automation activities

Eislingen, February 24, 2017 – Dipl.-Ing. Gerald Mies joins the management team of FFG Europe & Americas, taking over as President for the milling technology and factory automation business unit. The experienced industrial manager will be responsible for the MAG and Hüller Hille product brands as well as the industrial automation activities within the group.

Gerald Mies has more than 25 years of experience in the industrial engineering business. His positions included Managing Director at Fanuc Germany, and Managing Director at robot specialist Cloos. At FFG Europe & Americas, he will lead the operations of the MAG and Hüller Hille brands, including the growing activities in the automation business. Luigi Maniglio, COO of the group, said: “Gerald Mies has an extensive knowhow in the specific operational, technological, and management fields of our business. In various senior positions he developed companies into strategic partners for the global manufacturing industries. We are sure that our key activities in the field of machining centers and turnkey manufacturing systems will profit a lot from his skills and intimate knowledge of our target industries.” Gerald Mies is taking over from Dr. Heiner Lang, who had left the group last year to take on a new career opportunity.

The top management of FFG Europe & Americas, with Dr. Gerald Weber as CEO and Luigi Maniglio as COO, had recently announced a new business structure, which is aimed at providing tailored  manufacturing equipment by bundling the various brands’ expertise in technology-oriented business units. Also, the global sales and service activities are currently being restructured to grant customers direct and easy access to the multi-brand machine tool portfolio of FFG Europe & Americas.
